Established in 2001, the Greater Morgatown Community Trust develops and promotes charitable giving in the greater Morgantown community. Our underlying goal ... always to enhance the quality of life for those we serve. GMCT provides stewardship of more than 44 charitable funds created by and for area residents. GMCT builds endowment to ensure the financial health of area non-profits in the long-term. GMCT acts as a catalyst for community projects from parks and trails to economic development and promotion of the arts.

• Don Knotts Legacy Fund - Established by the Greater Morgantown Community Trust in June 2006, the fund is devoted solely to the purpose of honoring the legacy of Morgantown native and legendary comedian, Don Knotts. The Don Knotts statue and memorial park is slated to be the first project of the fund which will also support arts related activities in the greater Morgantown community. The park will incorporate a statue of Don Knotts as we remember him in Morgantown along with a montage of his career done in large relief panels mounted in the park. Other recent projects honoring Don include placement of a star in the sidewalk in front of the Metropolitan Theatre, on High Street in Morgantown. The official unveiling will be March 31st.
